Care Package Info.

Thanks so much for wanting to bless our family with a package.  They are SO fun to get!  I’ve found that the best way to go about it is to go to the post office and pick out the FLAT RATE box size you want.  I believe they’ve actually decreased the size of the boxes and raised the prices lately 😦  I do know that the largest size (about 1′ by 1′) costs around $80 to send.  If you pick it up first, then you’ll be sure not to overspend at the store and end up not being able to fit everything in.  You’ll also have to fill out a customs slip at the post office.  They’ll be able to help you with that though. FYI: It normally takes about 4-6 weeks to receive a package.

**If you get legos, just take them out of the boxes and send them in their plastic bags with the instructions manual to allow for more room.

**Any food items that are liquid or oily MUST be put in ziplock bags so they don’t leak on anything else in the box.

Here’s a list of stuff we normally like to get:

sliced pepperoni packs (must be put in ziplock bag)

parmesan cheese

mild cheddar cheese (must be put in ziplock bag–it’ll be extra sharp when it gets here!)

any kind of candy for kids

chocolate chips

graham crackers

fruit snacks

boxed mixes (cake, muffin, jello no bakes, brownie, etc.)

dry popcorn seasonings

beef jerky

country ham

bacon bits/bacon crumbles

brown sugar

pancake syrup (must be put in ziplock bag)

And anything else you think we’d like 🙂  Let me know if you have any questions. Here’s the address:

  1. Stephanie, can you get white and brown sugar in Burkina Faso? With maple and vanilla flavoring, we have a homemade pancake syrup that even our picky eaters prefer to store bought. Let me know and we can send the flavoring and recipe.
